The success party of Majaz – Ae Gham-e-Dil Kya Karun was a simple yet familial one. Talat Aziz took centrestage along with writer-producer Shakeel Akhtar, director Ravindra Singh, Alka Yagnik, Neelima Azim, Sharib Akhtar, Rahul Bhatt, Santosh Mudgal, Shakti Soni, distributor Sunny Khanna, Naaz Rahat, Madih-Ur-Rahman, Anusha Srinivasan Iyer and Mudasir Ali among others.
Dream Merchant Films’ Majaz – Ae Gham-e-Dil Kya Karun is a film based on the life of the 20th century legendary poet, Majaz Lucknowi.
Says Shakeel Akhtar, “We came in a week before Raees and Kabil, and waited for the tidal wave to come and go. Now we are seeing our film pick up in the belts that look forward to serious cinema, and are increasing theatres steadily from week 3. This strategy has paid off for us, hugely. We had released the film in 233 cinema screens in the first week and the film enters 3rd week on 3rd February in many screens, mostly in the Northern areas.Mumbai territory distributer Sunny Khanna will be opening the film in Gujarat and Saurashtra this week and we are very happy with our distributers as they are doing very good exploitation of this film.’
