Faissal Khan, brother of Aamir Khan who was last seen in Hindi film Chand Bujh  Gaya is back after 9-years. He plays the lead in a romantic film Chinar – Daastaan-E-Ishq which is directed by Sharique Minhaj, who directed the actor in his last film based on Gujarat’s Godhra incident in 2005. Faissal Khan says,“I have worked with Sharique Minhaj earlier in Chand Bujh Gayaand we share a favorable equation. You can call it a re-conciliation of all sorts with me coming back after a gap of 9-years’ with the same directors’ film. Here I play a poor boy, who is in love with a girl next door. For some reason we part away and that forms the whole crux of the story.”

Chinar – Daastaan-E-Ishq is based on a super-hit Urdu novelist Khwaja Farooq Ranzu Shah’s “Jheel Jalti Hai”, who incidentally hails from Kashmir.

The film is produced by the enterprising Rajesh R. Jain under the banner of Shagun Films Pvt. Ltd. The young 31-year-old Rajesh hails from a rich business family in Surat which is richly known for its diamond trade. Speaking on his debut venture, Rajesh Jain says, “I have always loved cinema. This is one form of medium of entertainment which has a global audience.I was always fascinated by the Kashmir region and its magnificence. The princely state has now become a disputed territory. When this subject of the renowned novelist came across, I knew that I am joining the bandwagon in the entertainment industry. The subject is good and is based on the backdrop of Kashmir. There is no terrorism as such. ”

Chinar – Daastaan-E-Ishq soon comes close on the heels of Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider featuring Shahid Kapoor. This film is a modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, set amidst the insurgency-hit Kashmir conflicts of 1995 and civilian disappearances. Defending his stance, Sharique Minhaj whose last film based on Gujarat mafia – Lateef – The King of Crime, Sharique Minhaj adds, “The film is based on Kashmir. But it has not shown any kind of terrorism. It is a romantic film and is shown in thisculture of Kashmir. Faissal Khan’s Kashmiri Look sounds, which took them.”

Salim Sen has provided the musical score for the film. The film co-stars Inayaat Sharma,Dilip Tahil, Pramod Moutho, Shahbaaz Khan amongst others.
