Director Rohit said “Film’s B&W portions are shot in India, and Colour portions are shot in London. The essence of the film A Modern Day Classic – CHEHERE are the people, the masks they wore, the lives they lived and the turmoil they faced, in a society structuring itself. The deception, the deceit, the passion and the will to survive unfold in the film. Filmed in Colour and Black & White, it captures the period and emotions…. Chehere is cinema within cinema. It is a psychological thriller set in 1952 in England, it is a drama of pure essence captured on celluloid, it plays with the inter-relationships of the main cast in the film. Our Protagonist, Tarana, brought to life is a silent era star who did not find her footings in the Talkies cinema and moves away to the U.K. and lives in a huge Mansion with her sister and a retinue of domestic help……the film unfolds under many dimensions and the characters are human but also existing with facades and many faces that we all are masked with. A classically mounted film…the canvas is musical, tense and as the film progresses the mystery deepens and the ending shocks you.”
